Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 15, 20251. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Teacher's Buddy, Inc. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on goteachersbuddy.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to teachers, school administrators, and other visitors who use the Service.
2. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow us to recognize your device, keep you logged in, store your preferences, and measure how teachers use our tools. We also use related technologies such as browser local storage for banner-state tracking.
3. How We Use Cookies
| Category | Examples | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Session token, CSRF token, cookie-banner dismissal state | Session to 12 months |
| Preferences | Template preferences, display settings | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Self-hosted usage analytics, anonymized page-view data | Up to 13 months |
| Marketing | Not currently used | N/A |
4. Notice and Choice
Teacher's Buddy operates under a notice-only consent model for US visitors. When you first visit the Service, a brief banner informs you that cookies are in use. By continuing to use the Service, you acknowledge this notice. You can opt out of analytics cookies at any time using the cookie banner or by adjusting your browser settings as described in Section 7 below.
5. Universal Opt-Out Signals
Where applicable state law requires, including under Texas law and the statutes of California, Colorado, Connecticut, and Oregon, we honor browser-transmitted opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control ("GPC"). When the Service detects a GPC signal from your browser, analytics initialization is suppressed regardless of your banner dismissal state. The Company does not engage in targeted advertising or the sale of personal information, so the GPC signal affects only analytics collection for visitors who send it.
6. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies may be set by third-party service providers operating on our behalf, such as our analytics provider. We have data-processing agreements with such providers that restrict them to processing data only for the purposes of providing services to the Company. The Company does not permit third-party providers to use cookies placed through goteachersbuddy.com for their own advertising or tracking purposes.
7. Managing Cookies
- Use our cookie banner to opt out of analytics cookies. You can reopen the banner at any time by clicking "Cookie preferences" in the footer.
- Your browser settings allow you to block or delete cookies. Instructions for common browsers are available at aboutcookies.org. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent account login and other core Service functions from working correctly.
8. Changes and Contact
The Company may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any change. Questions about our cookie practices can be directed to:
